Why would they even bother putting it for sale. What can be good? The pistons? crank?

Priceless:

ACV: $14,000 USD
Repair Cost: $70,617 USD

Min starting bid is $90, I hope that is the price they pay you to haul it away.

Looks terrible, likely smells terrible, but could there be something left usable? Pictures sure don't show it, but maybe some bottom parts like the transmission?

OTOH auction may be the only practical way to dispose of it.

Just a thought, but certain people will pay a fair amount of money for a "good title" on older cars. A piece of paper could well be worth $400 or more.....in some cases for rare cars "titles" have brought as much as $30k, perhaps more... and while this has a "salvage title" for this one, not all destroyed cars end up with a salvage declaration, if there is no insurance involved, or no accident report filed, in some states this car could well have a clean and clear and non salvage title created. But, it happens.....

Last edited by tmpusfugit; 06-10-2010 at 02:01 PM. Reason: correct that this car has a salvage title....
