the first time I was in Boston, by the time we made it to our hotel I was white knuckled and my wife commented she was surprised we had not see a wreck. my response, " SEEN ... hell. I am surprised we were not IN ONE." in the city interstate, 80+mph, bumper to bumper. kinda like club racing...
One way street the wrong way is almost allowed, as long as it's only a short distance and you drive really fast. My wife got a warning, not ticket but a warning, for taking a short cut against the traffic ona one-way street. (She's got seven warnings and zero tickets in MA, must be the rack...)

I solved the problem in 1968. Great time to get a divorce, E3 in the military, absolutely no assets, almost no income...... That was actually a nice VW and I miss it.....

ex wife? Mine rolled (5 complete rolls, landed on its wheels and was sort of diveable) a new (1967) VW down the center line of a straight flat level road through the cornfields of Indiana on a warm summer day. And she was sober too. Never did figure out how she did that one. I should have been forwarned, she drove an R2 Avanti through a house the year before....
