Default Motor mount installed height?

Car is an 86.5- I'm trying to get an idea as to the installed compressed height of the rubber part of the mounts if they are in good shape so I can evaluate mine.

Also, what is a typical pan to crossmember distance if the mounts are O.K.
(aprox)?

Thank You!

Some MM are so bad that the oil pan rests on the crossmember. I've gone with the pinky finger rule. You should be able to get about your pinky finger between the bottom of the oil pan and the top of the X-member.

Also, a quick check, the intake plenum end tops should be just about level with the cross bar on top of the engine for 85/86.

If the engine rocks while you rev it, they are still not fully collapsed.

If the fan is nearly scraping the lower radiator cover they are too low.

Default thanks for the replies!

looks like it's good enough for now- they can go farther down the list.
Car has been in storage for a while. Have done fuel pump/ filter, timing belt/
wp, rollers , tensioner all gears, cooling hoses and before running fuel hoses.
Need to get it going to really evaluate what shape it's really in.
