You'd think it would, but ragging on flippers never gets old for me.
Smog history says more than the carfax. Failed to pass and got sold out of state.

Here's his reply. Was hoping to set the hook but it didn't take:
It was a typo it was to read 4.5L with automatic transmission (triptonic-excuse the spelling).. never took engine apart or changed transmission... all stock to my knowledge.. no crazy adaptation.. suspension is as was also stock.
Darn. And there was so much promise in this to have a good "technical discussion" with him.
