Default Early S4 spoiler question...

Hi guys,

Can anyone who has the early "moving" S4 style spoiler tell me how it operates? I've recently bought one on Ebay and got it a few days ago. It looks great other then the fact that it is now "stuck" in closed position. I wonder f I should simply apply more force to get it moving or if there is another trick to open it up. I want to make sure it works prior to putting it on the car (ordered those double adhesive films for spoilers from 928gt; hate to ruin them by having to remove the spoiler if it does not start to work...).

Thank You!

By "work" I am not sure what you are talking about... It pops up for easier access w/ the key to the hatch lock and for cleaning...so it does not really "move" per se. Some of them to take a fair amount of force and I would think that w/o it mounted it would be almost impossible to "open" the hinge with it mounted to the wing. I have not ever tried to pop mine open w/o the wing attached to a car...

make sure to add some PB blaster to the hinges prior to opening the wing by pushing up on the rear edge of it, otherwise you might damage the hatch

The slang term among 928 owners for what you have is the "folding" or "flip up" wing. I agree with James, unhinging one while its off the car would either take two cans of spinach, or at least being 60 days into a P90X work out.

Thanks a lot guys!

Mrmerlin - never seen PB blaster before. But thanks a lot for the warning, I'll put some WB40 on hinges.
