Rear hatch trim screws in and 86, What are they made of??
So i was removing the rear trim piece that goes along the rear edge of the hatch and one of the screws wouldnt budge it sheared off the tip of my impact driver,
dulled 3 new drills , wore out a dremel grinding ball.
Dulled the tip of my chisle, what gives.??
I guess they are made of titanium, but I am not sure.
The only thing that would touch it was the dremel cut off wheel ,
I cut 2 slots in the screw head and with a wrench on the screwdriver I got it to turn out what a bugger also was using kroil

If you really want to know what it is made of you could send me the remnants. I have access to an XRF at work and could probably get you a material ID. as far as that goes I guess I could pull one of the screws out of mine and check it that is assuming yours and mine are both original.

I'll double check mine, but am pretty sure they are original as well. I'll pull one and try to get a chance to run it in the next couple days, hopefully. I'll let you know what I find.

Hey Greg thats a good question,
the drills came from HD and cut just about anything i have in the shop that needs cutting.
the impact was HFand have used it many time to remove various screws and such it has a 1/2in drive.
the chisle was an old craftsman thats great for tapping on screws to loosen them.
and the dremel was a dremel
