Rigid brake fluid lines

Rigid brake fluid lines
I was in the process of replacing the flexible brake lines when I broke the drivers side rigid one at the fitting to the flex line. They were so corroded that the ridig line twisted with the fitting.
Are these something I can find locally, have made or will I need to order from the big three? I assume I will have the same issue with the passengers side.

Jim,
We supply a lot of those lines and I am pretty sure they are still available.

Okay. I ended up twisting off the fitting for the front brakes on both sides in the wheel well trying to get them off the flex line.
I really don't want to do that for the back brakes as well. Any thing I can put on these fitting ends to break them loose from the hard line? The master brake cylinder is out as well and the fittings for the lines on the MC side are frozen to the line as well.
Thanks

I checked out availability on the early cars and they consist of one line from the MC to each flex line.
Suffice to say they are not available.
I remember Chuck Schreiber finding a company that can rebuild them.
Maybe a flaring tool and fittings may get you out of the mire.
Lots of problems I have read about on the UK list due to corrosion.

Well they say there is no such thing as a simple project!
Anyone have any experience splicing the rigid lines? The drivers side broke just above the fitting. The passengers side about 2 inches from the fitting just befor ethe bend.
What about flex lines? Any experience replacing rigid with flex?

I did the same thing trying to remove old flex line to the front caliper. I cut off the twisted end rigid line leaving as much length as possible. I went to local parts store and got a new brake line fitting and double end flaring tool to make a new end.
For the other side I make sure I took the caliper off and made the break line the fixed point and turn only on the flex line.

I would suggest to saok the fittings in Kroil; then use a torch to heat the fittings I had a 911 that had the frozen fittings and with this process the fittings came right out dont use too much heat as it can weaken the line also wrap the hard line with a wet rag

Thanks all for the great suggestions.
I went by Napa today with the drivers side line in hand and left with a $5 SS replacement line and a tube bender for $10. I will test on the short tube and pull the loner tube this weekend.
I was not able to find Kroil locally so I got some PB and will take the other fittings at the MC end that are frozen and cover with a PB filled plastic bag tie wrapped to the end. Hopefully I can salvage the longer rear lines.
I will also make sure I turn the flex hose end on the rears as I have new flex hoses anyway.
928 ownership would be impossible without this site and the great members who share their experience and support!!!
Thanks.
