Default Boge shocks

I think I already know the answer to this, but...

I have Boges on the front of the black car and the front sits about 1.5+ inches lower than my others. I put it on the lift tonight to look at the adjustment, but there appears to be NONE. I can't see any threaded section and I assume these are nonadjustable. I can get a number off them if that would help, but is that likely and I'm just going to have to replace the shocks?

Thanks
Rod

Ok, it's an 87 and there is a lower perch of course that looks like it should adjust, but no visible adjustment. If it sits inside the perch, is it possible that it can adjust 1.5inches? It doesn't look like there is enough room for that much adjustment? I could go over on the lift and take a photo, that would probably help.

Thanks
Rod

That's the adjuster on the bottom of the shock assembly. The threads are hidden underneath it and the lower perch. So, 1.5 inches would be about 40mm. There should be that much adjustment. So, is your ride height around 120-125mm now? Boosting it 40mm would make it about right.

4 turns will make the adjuster move 5 mm this will translate to 10mm of ride height per the WSM
One turn gives 1.5mm. make sure to spray some PB blaster into the lower perch and the inner side of the adjuster ring. From the looks of things you may be looking at taking the shocks apart to free up the outer collar as if they dont get lubed properly then the inner threaded ring will seize onto the outer collar and then the inner ring will spin on the shock body.
Then your only solution is to cut out the inner ring and replace it I had to do this on my 86 project.
The normal setting is with the outer adjuster screwed down flush to the inside collar, but after time the springs settle so a few turns up should restore ride height back to factory spec

Put it on the lift, doused the adjustment area with acetone/transmission fluid mix, best penetrating oil there is, let it sit for four days, dosing regularly, made an adjustment tool, based on the one Bill recommended and did the adjustment this morning.

Easy as could be. ;-)

I think the key is letting it soak so it will not rotate the threads on the shock.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Now I can install the AIR parts, probably when I get back from SITM.
