Default New sound

I have a new sound in my S4. When I accelerate somewhat hard, enough to engage first gear, I'll get a metallic "tink" or high pitched "boink" coming from the rear of the car. No feeling in the seat of the pants. What should we look for at Roger's shop?

Is this only once, possibly as the transmission shifts into first?

Actually if you're accelerating hard enough to be in 1st gear I'm not sure you'd hear anything from the axle shafts over the BWAAAAH!! , but they ought to be checked semi-regularly anyway, cheap insurance.

32" of half-inch extensions and an 8mm socket is your friend.
