Default Wheel spacers - WTB?

Hi everyone...

Just put some 18'' 993 twists on my 85 with a 52 offset for the rears and 265/35 tires. It has spacers on it (I believe they are the factory 21mm but will measure to make sure) and the tires ever so slightly rub on bumps.

I'm a little nervous about rolling the fenders any but it wouldn't take much I don't think. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has recommendation on a good sized spacer to tuck them in just a little more without having to use open ended lugs or would I be best just sucking it up and rolling the inner lip of the fender?

If 21mm is rubbing slightly, I would think a 15mm bolt on spacer would work well. Vertex Auto online sells some good quality and reasonably priced 15mm bolt on spacers. Had them on the rear of my GT for a while with Cup II et55 17" wheels and they worked great.

That the factory 21mm spacer off and have a machine shop shave 5mm off the inner face, then reinstall. You may need to use open ended nuts though.

...and put the stock nuts on afterwards to cover the studs.

Lots of spacers available and so much preferable to rolling the lip.

before you replace the spacers or cut them get a good thick pair of leather gloves.
and gently pull the fenders out you should be able to gain about 5 to 8 mm of additional clearance and you wont do any damage to the car but if your not careful you might cut your fingers

Give it a whirl with no spacers at all. You'll need extra nuts but you might not find it unappealing.

There are extra-tall nuts available. Last time I looked they were ridiculously expensive, though, and using steel open nuts below the regular ones was much, much cheaper.

I'm always afraid of maching on the inner face of spacers or the wheels themselves. Same thing really. it means taking metal away from the arae where the lug nuts seat and hold the wheel or spacer on, a somewhat critical area IMO. My too sense.

In the picture those look like they are well past the metal fender edge. Maybe taking the 21mm spacers out isn't such a bad idea-- it will leave you with about 1/2" clearance based on my calibrated visual micrometer eye.
