well the washing it is a clue its either the hot post wires being corroded ,
and or a hot post cover missing,
the CE panel is getting wet from a leaking blower box seal or,
the rear ground strap is getting wet from a leaking spoiler attach, or key hole or hatch seal

Hola, I haven't had a chance to get into her for a bit. Last sunday I took her for a several hour ride, after an hour and a bit, I made the mistake of shutting her off (My buddy needed to pee) 10 min later no joy! No sound or clicking on turn over. Just before shut down, voltage and temp were perfect on the gauges. We rode with no problems or voltage flutter, some times at 80 sometimes at 125mph. So today I've got an hour and dig into the CE panel. I remove and check ( visually) a bunch of relays.... they look like they were installed earlier today (perfect, shiny, clean, bright). There was one thing I did notice that made me wonder.Below the relays, the wire 'plugs' or connectors with several wires in them located just below the relays... What does the 'plug labeled 'H' control? This connector was not firmly coupled, could this be my glitch? Anyone...Anyone? Oh by the way, I disassembled the 14 pin connector it was a bit dirty but not coroded, I cleaned it up and checked the wire insulation etc inside, looks great. This weekend I'll lift the car and digg around the wires on the stater and the alt.. What does 'H' do? Where is there a list of the wire bits? Thanks so much, You guys are kings among men.

I'd be pulling the air filter box and diving deep into the valley back by the bell housing.

I'd be cleaning the grounds for all the electronics. They are located on either side of a bracket that spans the back of the valley. The are buried under the regulator / damper back there.

And I'd be inspecting CPS and MAF connections for fraying.

I forget what all you've done maint-wise.

I'd start, actually like this:

Pull both coil wires, look for corrosion. Also pull both distrib. caps and look for corrosion on the rotor and inside contacts. I don't think this is your no-start, but it might be and its a great place to start if you haven't been in there recently.

I'll go back to the beginning. My hunch is the ignition switch or the nuetral safety switch. Ignition is a cheap and easy fix. The other is cheap too, but I don't know how easy it is to fix.

Greetings all, I hope You're having a kickass summer. I have continued to tinker... I have done my best to check all suggested areas. I finally called Roger and he sent me a new starter, and I installed it today. Last week afer trying all kinds of checks and cleanings and servicings I drove her for about 45 minutes at speed ( as much time as possible above 100mph). I shut her down... no joy!!!. Today after I replaced the starter, I drove her for over an hour, as hard and as fast as I could (great fun)... came home and shut her down, She started right up! (angels sing!) I have since driven her about five times at various distances and speeds, she starts perfectly every time. I pray that this is the solution and that I will have no more of this @*&#$ problem. It's been a bitch, I haven't been able to rely on the old girl so I've missed out on a lot of trips/driving this year. I'm going to change that now and hope for the best. I can't begin to thank you guys enough. Even with the PITA factor I love the process and challenge of fixing my other woman. Thanks again, Brian

As has been posed before the starters can sometimes fail after heatsoaking so with the new starter you should be good to go

Chances are it's a relay, or the ignition switch. Things fail intermittently, then more frequently, till finally the culprit is obvious. Sometimes it's just a but more humidity that shorts a contact that fails a temp sender that tweeks the brain that tells it to run full rich that bogs the... you know. Clean all your ground points... you would be _amazed_ how much that simple procedure clears up.
