Well, we can get those tears of sadness turned in to tears of joy pretty easily my friend!
I still don't have this car as clean as I would like for it to be, but even the way it is now it is cleaner than 95% of 928's on the road today I bet!
You know, now that I think about it...I don't even think this car leaks anything? Well, other than freon, but no surprise there and it leaks that VERY slowly even! Can't be one of my cars...mine ALL leak something! LOL!

"I am not going to give a nice car away, but I have seen SO MANY folks of late spending $1000 - $2000 on a car and then having to add $3000 - $5000 to get it running right and they still end up with a car that needs a total repaint and interior (that are probably never going to get done) and they are in to the car for more than I will sell this car for..."
That stings. Nice car James. GLWS

Michael,
I don't have a problem with project cars and I LOVE to see a nice 928 save, but for the most part it does not go that way. The car gets bought on the cheap... they put a little money in to it and then get bored or broke and now it is a running car that will still be worth little and the same thing happens with the next owner and the next and then it either gets wrecked, parted out or the lucky few get fully restored (sometimes by the owner himself as a fun project, and really the only way to NOT lose your shirt on one of these).
By the time it is all said and done a nice running decent looking 928 could have been bought and driven regularly putting a HUGE smile on the owners face not ONLY when they are driving but when they just go out to the garage to look at it or sit in it!
Sometimes you have to look to find those, but with this forum, you don't have to look far! There are MANY well sorted very nice looking and driving 928's right here that are not rock bottom prices but in the long run will be WAY better cars that owners can take to any club event (Porsche or other) and hold their heads up high as they arrive in better style than almost anyone else at the event!
I know you were just messing with me Michael, but it was a good opportunity to illustrate how rare it is for the cheap 928 to actually be a cheap 928. Most folks want to drive a car that not only looks nice on the outside but is nice and comfortable on the inside too and we all know that you can spend a small (or even a LARGE) fortune getting a 928 back in to that kind of shape if it is in disrepair cosmetically.

James - that is a really nice looking car. I especially like the color(s) even the seats though I know not everyone does.
Brian - do the right thing. Buy this car, do the front suspension rebuild/upgrade now, look for a set of used seats in the color you like, they are out there, and redye those awesome and rare red seats, put them in bags and save them in the attic. Voila! you've got a really awesome 928, in an absolutely stunning color in good condition from a reputable fastidious Rennlister. Unless you are looking for an 86.5/S4 hard to imagine there being a better car for the money and reputation.

Some lucky person will buy your car and be able to enjoy it right away. I hope someone on here is that lucky person so we can all hear tales of enjoyment first hand.

A full-out Lipstick Red interior is a little tough to endure, but CanCan on Black is a great combo. IMO. Not a huge fan of the off-white piping, but those seats are hot. They shouldn't be in an attic with Grandma's treadle sewing machine.
Very classic looking, and not dated at all. In fact yesterday I saw a Vantage Roadster with red leather on black. Beautiful.

JP, what happens on those Can-Can seats is the dye on the vinyl piping just fades away leaving off yellow piping! YUCK! I am hopeful that the color glo people can fix that too. I am going to have them come out and look at the seats soon. The piping was originally red just like the seats! Go figure!
Landseer, it has a strange and scary handling problem that I don't have a clue about. A friend borrowed it for about 6 months and when I got it back I was scared to drive it. I don't know if just some bushings have finally worn out (108k miles) or if some bearings have become loose and need tightening... Not sure. Also the central warning system has NEVER worked...I have a functional box to install but have not done so yet. The stereo is total crap and worthless too and we noticed the sunroof didn't open the other day and the passenger side door lock does not move so you can't lock the car and the last thing is the antenna does not go up and down but that might be due to the aftermarket radio...not sure if it has an antenna activating lead.
So, several little things and one big thing (handling) and one med thing (A/C...med, if you want to charge it, much bigger if you want to track down the little leak and try and fix it for good) and then the small stuff (seat re-dye, passenger door lock, antenna, stereo and central warning brain install).
If I take it in to get it worked on it will be suspension, A/C, door lock and sunroof. I won't worry about the rest of the little things. Also will probably get the seats and arm rest redyed too...heck, then I probably won't want to sell the car! LOL! It'll be a concours winner at that point!
