Default 84 928 S for sale

Guys, I figured I'd throw this out for you all to look at... I am not going to give a nice car away, but I have seen SO MANY folks of late spending $1000 - $2000 on a car and then having to add $3000 - $5000 to get it running right and they still end up with a car that needs a total repaint and interior (that are probably never going to get done) and they are in to the car for more than I will sell this car for...

That said it is not perfect (of course!) but it is pretty nice (108k miles, 4spd auto trans, 4.7L US engine). It certainly does not need any paint work...it looks VERY GOOD. Not perfect, but very good. The only interior stuff that needs to be done is a redye of the front seats...they are Can-Can red and a nice leather kit in that color would probably get you taken care of. I hear ya, "if it is that easy, why have you not done it already?" Well, if I was not in a wheelchair I would have...I can't get to the seats with them in the car and I can't get them out myself.

The A/C worked up till last year and now needs a recharge...so obviously it has a small leak as it cooled very well for over 3 years w/o any intervention.

The radio SUCKS and I have a new deck that will go with the car but you will have to put it in.

It comes with another set of gold anodized wheels.

It WAS repainted back in '92 and that paint still looks very good.

The dash had new leather (at a cost of more than $5k) done at about the same time as the paint...unfortunately no one cared for it and it was later ripped off. The dash w/o the leather does not look bad and I have not had any desire to spend the BIG BUCKS to fix what looks acceptable.

Lets see...most of the receipts on this car, but not all of them.

This car has been the most consistent starting car of all my 928's. It can sit for months and always starts right up! NICE!

The bad news is it has a handling problem right now...I won't drive it because of that.

The central warning system is either disconnected or inop. I have another central warning brain but have not installed it...again, being in a wheelchair I just can't get to the things I need to get to for replacement.

So, if you want it running right $1500 non-refundable deposit and I'll get it fixed and you can then send another $6000 along and for $7500 you will have a VERY NICE presentable 928 S that you can be VERY proud of! I'll even have the A/C recharged for you.

As is... $6500 and you get it fixed...

Here are some pics of my baby!

No, not yet! Just trying to make some room for the '85 though! LOL! Wife never liked this car because she did not like the bright red w/ the burgundy. She liked both parts, but NOT together in the same car!

I have had this car available off and on for the last couple of years when someone local would ask about buying a 928, but it just never found the right home. If no one buys it now I don't really care either. Like I said, I am not going to give a perfectly nice car away and I like having it...

Seat re-dye would take a couple weekends if done with great quality using the stripping/sanding/leatherique rubbing dye process, one weekend if done with SEM color coat process (spray flex paint).

Very, very nice exterior color.

Never underestimate a well-sorted 84 for troublefree fun. My 84 automatic is the favorite here. Absolute pleasure to work on, also, compared to the 32V cars.

Nice looking 928! Good luck w/ the sale James!

You are so particular about your cars and the attention you pay to detail is something to be admired. She must be SWEET and a great car for someone to get that doesn't want to go thru fixing one up and dealing w/ so many unknown problems that can cause an arm and a leg!

Here are a couple of more pics of the car...I think I touched up the scratch on the nose just below the passenger side fog light too, so it does not show in these pics. It is a pretty solid scratch but due to the location I never notice it and I sit a lot lower than all the rest of you guys!

James, Is that your wife looking displeased with the color combo, holding a cup of coffee, in the reflection of the car in the interior shot pic?

Bob,

Good eye, but no. The kid taking the pic came from up from San Antonio for our big PCA car show and it was his mom drinking a coke I think...

Okay James - I can't contain it any longer - what's the story behind the calendar girls I see in so many of your threads?
(btw, I enjoy my calendar on the garage wall)

I think James must own a Texas franchise of Hooters.
But he will probably say "guys, they just go to my church".

That car is gorgeous.

Three of the girls do go to my church! In fact Amy in the pics above is one of them. Two of them are friends of friends and the rest came through a modeling website called Model Mayhem. Working on 2011 as we speak and will be bringing back some of last years models and a BUNCH of new models this year. Also considering a second calendar that has current Porsche products as the main focus with a hot girl and a 928 also pictured... Watch for a new calendar thread soon!

My goodness, it would be hard to concentrate on praying if they sat anywhere near me
