I'll be contrary and agree with Matt. The Audi 18" dish wheels are a close match to the 928's and would look fantastic on the car. Unfortunately the bolt circle is different. So I'd vote for the dish wheels.

Off a VW GTi: 18x7.5 inch , 5x112mm 45mm Silver Wheels
They look a little like phonedials.
REAL phonedials would be soooo sweet!

Post Ring Ring <= Phone dials are calling!

Phone Dials would be awesome as long as they keep the exact styling of the original.

This is a great discussion

Some discussion in this thread regarding custom wheels:

Cup 1 and Cup 2 already had aftermarket 18 inchers for years but were discontinued.

I'd love a set of 18" D90's. They'd go great with my 17x9 and 17x10 2 Piece set.

That's just mean - c'mon more details please are the centres cast or forged?. There is a company in England that converts Fuchs to 2 or 3 piece and I would love to do the same to a set of manhole covers to bring them out to 17"

Would these be considered as a car having phone dial wheels?

pretty soon the kid will not know what "phone dial" means. Did it go out in the 80's?

Maybe they'll just picture something a little different when they hear "phone dial wheels".

Dan,

If you really wanted the "different appearance" frequently, then you'd really want 2 piece wheels. The spider can be removed from them and a different spider installed on the barrel without dismounting the tires - probably couldn't do that with a 3 piece wheel, as the attachment bolts also hold the two portions of the barrel together.
