I don't think anyone is going to bother to make offers if your starting point is $5000 for a busted motor.

Serious offer here. I'll offer you $500 for the supercharger, bracket, pulley, intercooler, and other bits.

James, You are your own worst enemy. You run an auction(s) for a car with serious gaps in credibility and no pictures (I refer to the SC) or support regarding those questions. When queried you offer no convincing explanation other than "It runs fine" or something to that affect. You invite sniping.

In your defense and in reply to Tuomo, GTS engines are rare, so $5000 might be reasonable, maybe not, no way to tell. IIRC, Porsche has a new one for $25K + shipping; there was a GTS engine ebay some time ago, it went much higher. BUT, given the replies to our questions, if I was in need of one, this would be last on the list and I would exhaust all other options first.

Things that the owner wants to sell are worth as much as the highest bid.

I'll start with $1000 bid for the complete GTS engine ("complete" definition being the same as what factory complete engines come with). There will likely be higher bids, but I am bidding $1000 because I am comfortable that it's a good deal for me even given the minimal disclosure.

Your're likely to get a higher bid from me or someone else with more disclosure.

Actually i added pics of the engine and supercharger on the auction after it was listed. I had 24 pics on the auction and i just neglected to put the engine ones on in the first place but added pics from an additional website. There are pics at the beggining of this thread. I will get the endplay measurements soon but in the meantime there is nothing im not sharing at this point. And no i dont plan on pulling the motor apart to take pictures before i sell it. What more do you want me to disclose?

Do you have an auction up somewhere for the engine?

Let's start with these questions:
- What's the engine serial number?
- Who is going to pull the engine and when?
- How many miles on it?
- What are the symptoms that make you believe the engine needs a head gasket?

In what state and city is this engine located? Will you charge to crate the engine? If so, how much?

I do not have an auction for the engine. The motor is in the car and the car is located at my home in collegeville pa 19426. The motor has 98500 miles. I think its the head gasket because i can see that the head gasket is leaking antifreeze. I have never shipped an engine so i am not sure about crating it but yes im sure there will be a minimal charge for that. I will pull the engine after it sells. I will try and follow up tommorrow with engine serial number. Where is it located?

Jim
You could have a stroker built on the side....wait, are the gts blocks the best for stroking?

would be nice to have a standby block for the gts...those are like gold .

Have you seen the engine actually running since you noticed the antifreeze leak? If I understand correctly, the engine doesn't currently run in your car. We've seen some interesting case here on the forum with the engine not running and head / block / head gasket leaking antifreeze.
