Maybe you could make an S4+ reproduction of my strosek front spoiler. Most that see it really like it.

Thanks Dan. I haven't seen your's close up, but if I liked it, I might make one for my own use, but I wouldn't want to knock off someone else's for consumption in the community unless they are out of business or it is no longer available for some reason. I don't mind "replicating" the factory items, particularly that are not available or not worthy, especially when mine are cheaper and better, or are significantly different.

But, your suggestion is the essence of "brain storming." Keep the ideas coming. Jerry

This sounds great.. will these be GTS like with foamed tops = presumably just rears? since stock fronts are available (and actually work well and are robust).

What is the general strategy Jerry - simular flex vinyl material to the fronts? One piece or multi part?

I actually think it may be fine to leverage the stock porsche S4 splash panels (the ones Roger sells) & just create a new foamed "over the wheel top" section for use in conjuctions with this.

Still either way I'd be interested in this also

I took one of my packaged wheel covers to the P.O. friday and checked on the shipping to various places out of this country. Based on whet I found I am willing to ship to just about anywhere else for $45 S&H. To Canada it will be $35 for S&H. I hope this helps anyone out of the US to decide to have me send you one of these wheel covers. Thanks for your support. Jerry

Jerry,
Thanks for the cover. Nice piece of work!

Sorry I had to cut it up to fit my subwoofer. It works great keeping is in place.

I just picked up an S4 (a Silver '88 that will hopefully look like yours someday, Dave) with the flimsiest remains of a tire cover that I'd ever seen. I was thinking it's plywood time, but was quickly reminded of this new product. The timing couldn't have been more perfect.
EDIT: Wow! From across the country, that was fast. Beautifully made and finished piece. Too nice looking to be covered up by the carpeting. Based on your abilities and your other "Re-Designed" projects currently underway, this cover probably wasn't much of a challenge for you. I look forward to your other ventures.

Thanks Jadz. You might conside taking a couple of strips of the cut out material and ABS glueing them along the underside of the two narrow areas to stiffen them because they are now going to be a little more flexible. Use coarse sandpaper to roughen the mating surfaces of the areas you glue to get a better bond. Get the ABS glue at the plumbing department of you local hardware store. Jerry

Thanks. There is essentially no difference between what has become known as the "first batch" and what I am making now. I am, however, taking a little extra care in finishing the cut edge all around with sand paper rather than just finishing with the rasp. Jerry

Jerry,
Very nice piece, fit perfectly and received it quickly. Thanks again. Put me down for a S4 spoiler if you ever get to that point.

At least that is my very preliminary plan. Drive carefully and maybe by the time you destroy your new one I will be ready. Jerry
I need a set (front L&R) of the wheel well splash shields. Are those the wheel well liners you are talking about?

Thanks

For Chris, I have one packaged and will ship it in the morning. Thanks.

For others, I still have several I have formed recently and have some more material to form more covers as the need arises. Thanks to all for your interest.

For Jim, I think the splash shields may be something else from what I am working for the rear wheel wells of the GTS cars in particular, but also for the GT and even probably any of the earlier cars that one might like liners for.

What I am developing is a full wheel well liner for the rear wheel wells. It is going to be a two-piece item that will have a joint or seam based on an overlap up over the middle from front to back, not side to side. The liner will be installed one half at a time with the last step joining the two halves together where they overlap. I think this will make them much easier to take out and put back in for service or whatever. I am also going to try to incorporate some sound deadening material to the inner half of these as an option, and in addition anyone will be able to stuff the remaining void between these and the car with additional sound deadening material such as largish baggies stuffed with firerglass insulation or whatever else you might come up with.

I have put a lot on my plate, but continue to make progress with all of it. The S4 front spoiler is in the embrio stage, but I have consulted with the plastic man and his vauu-forming expert about the forms for that and have actually bought a couple of sheets of masonite like material to evaluate for the forms. Don' give up hope on these.

And, a belated thank you to J.P. for your compliments. I'm very please that you and others are satisfied with these covers.
