Sad it's sold, you should invest in a red/black 86.5 just to keep involved in the marque.

I deliver.....
Mighta been the A-330. I didn't catch exactly which one he said.

And we arent retiring the 747 (not yet atleast)..rumor is we are getting a few more from Boeing since they F'd up the 787 deliveries...and perhaps a few from JAL as part of their liquidation and BK reorganization.

Congrats Bigs, glad it's going to an enthusiast.

Maybe we'll see the new owner chime in here or the other forum.

Bigs,

You won't be able to stay away for long. Just when you think you're out, we're gonna draaaag you back in. I think I heard Doc offering up a nice 86.5. You know the S3s are much lighter and less complicated than your car was. Whaddya say...?

Congrats Bigs, I'm sure it's going to a good home. Those pilots are pretty meticulous. Several AA pilots are really good customers of mine. For some reason they just love the 928.

Yeah, that didn't sound right, but I didn't want to question. I saw a 380 leave Sydney once and it was massive. I wouldn't want to fly that sucker.

The can change the word best to "oldest" as that's a seniority seat. He's obviously well heeled though... They make the big bucks!

Still a good living, but 48% of what it used to be for some of us.

I'm sorry you take exception but if you've ever flown professionally it's not just about the number of years or hours. A busted checkride, or a simple infraction, could even be a medical hiccup and you're out of the running for a 747 seat, I don't care if you flew the Wright Flyer, it takes an almost perfect record to get selected for those seats, in addition to hours flown and years on the job.

I really dont mind the check rides at all, as sick as it sounds. At least you have control over those in your preparation. Its the medical that i will always worry about...you never know when something on an EKG(done every year BTW) will be flagged or something goes "amuck" in your body with out any of your own doing...or a car wreck leaves with you with a disqualifying condition or medicine use.

Anyway...'nuff. Congrats on the sale Bigs. I'm sure you will be back. Your sage advice and "plumbing tips" are always needed over in OT so dont leave completely!

Yes, it has been hard times in the aviation industry hasn't it? I feel fortunate to be with an air cargo company... The passenger folks have taken the brunt of it.
