If so, who, what, where and how was it done. I'll be re-spraying all of my taillights red, but I feel that it might dim the output and I really do not want to get ***-ended because someone can't see my brake lights. Any experienced help out there?

I suspect you'll find that the warning system will complain about burned out tail lights if you switch to LED, unless you mod the warning system or add load resistors in parallel with the LEDs.

Hi Paul: I've seen darkened tail lights where you could not see the turn signals anymore during the daytime. They were pretty, but a bit dangerous.

I suggest that you only paint the amber part with as little red as you need to cover the amber. Then get it shiny with clear coat.

Spare the back-up light area - you won't see much backing up at night, if you paint it.

For brake lights, I have six of these 7 watt LEDs on my 90' S4.

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/B...22388-1-2.html

Plus one of their 1156 7 watt LEDs in the third brake light.

Expensive mod, but the result is very bright brake lights and much improved safety.

I've documented the bulb socket mods, including the bulb monitoring defeat and cruise control LED mod, here on RENNLIST. Search the archives for those old posts of mine.

Even have a pair of 7 watts in amber on the front. Side markers are LED too. Only exception is the rear turn signals, which are still incandescent.

Paul I was thinking of installing these Spder-Lite X2 LEDs but haven't got around to doing it as yet.

This will change the visual pattern of the light when viewed from behind. May even look cool too on the S4

Anyone installed these yet? They've been around a couple of years now.
