When I try and turn the nut on the right the whole thing turns and I see nothing turning below. When I turn the one on the left the shaft and the washer looking thing on the end turns below. How do I remove the wiper arm? 1982 928S

get a dremel with a cut off wheel and carefully grind one side of the nuts off, continuing turning the nuts with the shafts spinning will damage the wiper arm teeth

use antiseize on the threads of the new stainless nuts, Ace has them, ( stainless wont get all corroded like the cad plated nuts/washer did)
also you may have to fit an oversize inner ID washer or two, to go over the stud as it will probably be protruding past the top of the arm surface, if you dont do this then the arm wont be tight on its shaft
