Bronto here is the info on http://quadcities.craigslist.org/cto/1736537904.html

hello, the Porsche is black with camel interior,(the interior and carpet still look brand new, no stains). Its a 5 speed, still has original tire and compressor. I have all manuals in there original case and some service records also. I purchased the vehicle from a priest in Rockford about 4 years ago, i always kept in the garage at my bldg out of the weather and only drove it on nice days. With all my vehicles and motorcycles i just do not have time to drive it, and a car like that needs to be driven at least once a month or more. I am in chicago until thursday, and will be arriving back in the QC thursday night, from there i can email you the VIN #.

No Vin# yet, as for the yellow one it is unfortunate that it is a respray or Roger would have been all over that one!

Another 78 I ran across, http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/1735343962.html

Here is what he wrote:

"9288102307,checkered seats, instuments in german 5 speed electic seat higher compression motor than american version very clean inside and out but not new its a 32 year old car metalic brown runs good but pops out of third gear on occasion as for timing belt and water pump I have no Idea only had car for around a year and already have put more time and money into it than I wanted to car would be mint with 3 to 4 thousand put into it no cracks on dash car is kept covered and driven only on weekends. the paint is mostly original as far as I can tell I have manuals with the breakdowns and exploded diagrams that cover this car bumper to bumper each book covers one aspect of car one transmission one electrics ect. I think their is seven manuals.the price is non negotiable its that nice."

Now considering it needs the trans rebuild, and it has no paper work history, and he does not know about the TB and WP, and no info on milage, he is going to keep it if he stays firm at 10K...

Re: the NH car- You could explain to him that it's not a higher HP car, he's confused w/ the later euro-S engines. Also, try to get the transaxle #'s to see if it's LSD. You would want that.

It has a FANTASTIC color combo, IMHO. I love the rootbeer brown... and Pascha to boot? NICE! And it comes with the manuals? Sounds like someone was taking care of it. If the dash is good, then so might be the rest of the interior.

Let's face it, you're not going to find a perfect '78 out there for a bargain. No TB/WP? So what? It ain't broke, it's a non-interference engine, and you're gonna do them anyway. You might want to think along the lines of, "I want a decent platform from which to start..."

Lots of potential... the color, the guages, the interior...

Good luck!

I am always looking, it's fun, and I like to post for any other early 928 future owners.... But my secret car is still waiting for it's current owner to get back in town from there it's PPI, and if all checks out as I think it will and cash is exchanged then I'll lift the skirt... You wanna picture.... Say pretty please...
