Ken: I personally have no track experience but there were recommendations from knowledgeable friends that I go to 245's and 275's, so I assume they will fit. Its a BBS wheel so I also assume its strong enough.

Rick: How's Things! BTW, to help out on Vlocity's question: you're running 255's on the front aren't you? What's your thoughts for Ken?

Rick, I wish I could. My 928 is not in the condition that I would risk the trip; plus I really can't take the time. Summer is not kind to my restaurant and any extra $$$$ are better spent on the 928 than the SITM trip at this time. Hopefully, next year; but I'll be at Sharks in Hell and we also have a car show in my town I'm involved in that I'll be encouraging a "Sharks in Saginaw" component.
Of course, you'll be invited too.

If the car show is on a Sunday I'll try and make the trip up to visit, I'll see you at SIH late Saturday afternoon.

Why did you post pics the same week a set was going cheap on Ebay?

Will these tires work ok with a 86.5 that needs shocks?

245/50/YR18 F
275/45/YR18 R
Tires Continental SportContact 3's with less than 500 miles.

$1195 shipped on Ebay (tires alone are $1136 plus shipping at tirerack)

Those tires are way too big a diameter for a 928 - about 3 inches diameter larger than stock.

If they even fit under the guards, your speedo will read waay out - the Panamera wheel arches are designed with enough room that they can be swapped out for 20" wheels from factory, so their 18's have huge side-walls by 928 standards.

Tires are too tall, you would have to go with 245/40/R18 and 275/35/R18 to keep the speedo reading correct and to have proper ride height.

I saw the same ones, you would have to try and sell the tires separately.

Just purchased the same set for the black 88 I purchased. Also purchased a set of lobster fork carrera S wheels with factory painted white centers. Thinking the panamera wheels with 235 up front and 275/285 rears will be perfect for me.
Paul, like the look and the front offsets are about as close to factory as I have found for a set of takeoff wheels.

Blandis: Congrats on your wheel(s) purchase. No question that 275's will work. I kinda wished I'd done that instead of the 265 rears myself. I'm fairly sure 285 rears would work too. Throw some pics on when you get them. BTW, I'm quite pleased with the Hankook Ventus evo12 tires.....prolly got 1000 miles on them and they feel comfortable. Check them out.

Very cool. I've never seen one of the later body styles w/o the rear wing. With those wheels it definitely looks like the inspiration for the rumored Panamera coupe.

Paul,

Did you happen to note the payload on those wheels (usually stamped xxxx N inside).
