Question Whom to use to ship used parts from U.S. to Canada?

Question: what's the best way to ship used parts from the U.S. to Canada?

Looks like I need to do this and I remembered the thread "A question for Canadians..." from about a month ago which made me a little concerned about UPS and complications/cost/delays due to customs, etc.

I just need to find the best option for a 28 lb. package containing an A/C compressor.

Recommendations? Experiences?

Only use USPS for Canadian shipments.

Thanks, Roger. I know that you know all about shipping and trust your answer.

Looks like I got lucky that you were online! Heck, it took me longer to ask the question than to get an answer!

Make sure you state USED car parts on the customs declaration as it makes a difference from new parts when it comes to duties payable.

I always had my parts from Roger via USPS and never had a problem.
Hope it will stay that way.
I have to pay both federal and provincial sales taxes (12.5%) when I get the parts. No duty charges.
And also, it sometimes get stuck at the Custom for up to 1 week...

I've done +$10k biz over the 'free' border...............USPS at least gets the parts here eventually but they dont control customs black hole.

All my orders with Roger do get to my remote location with a fee attached by CDN customs...............typically a % of stated value.

I tried UPS once with another supplier............half the parts arrived in days the other half a number of weeks later.

I always ship to just south of the border and go across and bring the items back myself as it is WAY cheaper!

Lets turn this around, what would be the best way to ship from Canada to the US. Say something small and light and something heavy?

I've used Canada Post but given your big city location Fedex or UPS may also work for you.

No because they dont control US customs.............neither does the courier companies that I know of for same reason.

CP barely guarantees in Canada deliveries............pls dont go postal on me
