try disconnecting the kickdown switch at the gas pedal and trying the car, you might have a short in the CE panel .
You have had a lot of very strange problems with this car and it might be a good idea to drop the CE panel and inspect the rear of it. Look for shiny gray wires , if you find any then they have gotten hot the normal color is satin gray, look for gray wires that cross over other ones and may have melted together.
As always disconnect the battery first.
If no changes I would also remove the spare tire and inspect the wire harness in the well make sure there are not any damaged wires or corroded connections

I checked the ones in the spare tire well and those look okay as well as the connections to the battery. I even cleaned those up, but obviously no change.
I have been contemplating a CE Panel refresh since I first discovered rain water leaking into the car from the blower box.

Andy:
Does your new LH have a chip that supports diagnostics (ie., 88 or newer)? If so, we could look at it with Theo's diagnostic program or John Speake's Spanner at SITP. Even if it doesn't have newer chip, you know you can look at the TPS function at the LH and EZK plugs, looking for resistance change at the proper pins. Still, I'm not sure why you suspect the WOT switch. Its failure mode is that it does not activate at WOT. Anyway, you could check to see if it was inadvertently stuck on by checking resistance across EZK pin 28 and 18. It should be infinite at anything below 2/3rds throttle, closed (less than 10 Ohms) above that (although I've never seen one close below 3/4ths).
BUT if you found water getting to the CE panel, you need to give that a close look first.

LH does not have diagnostic chips and has been confirmed by Sean and Roger 2 weeks ago during testing. I have done the tests at the plugs for the TPS idle & WOT switches while the LH was out. All tests within spec...
I may yank the CE panel tonight if I don't have a realtor coming over (buying a house).

your WOT switch sounds like it is in need of replacement

My WOT won't open until the foot is almost to the floor also, seems kinda normal from the other cars I've tested. You got some weird stuff going on Andy, wish I could help ya.

Anyone know a good Exorcist?
If this car is doing that much stuff to confuse the great minds on Rennlist, it HAS to be something in the CE panel causing everything to go Wonky.

I will do that too. What wires connect into the 14-pin? I'm looking at the engine compartment diagram and it just shows the 14-pin and a line going to the starter.
