Default What goes into taking the door panels off?

Anybody have any pics? The panel covers are coming up at the windows and I'm planning on using adhesive spray to keep it tight. Any opinions are appreciated.

Panels are pretty straightforward. Take off the armrest pocket lid to access the bolts int he door pocket, and snap out the ring for the door vent intake to get another. I think the rest were all pretty obvious.

I would search for threads on door handle, or door lock replacement, there are lots of them around.

when you glue the door panel cover back on you want to use brush on contact adhesive Weldwood is good to use from home depot buy a few small brushes to toss out after use also consider using the Arrow JT20 stapler and 1/4 in staples in addition to the glue

Obvious to some maybe.
Look for screws along the bottom edge, in the carpet stuff. Pick out the centre of the door locking round ****, remove the screw in the centre, remove the ****. phillips head screw under the door release lever . Bolt under the plastic air inlet(pops out) at front where it meets the end of the dash. Unscrew the door lock button. The wiring guiide at front is held in by a small black phillips head screw. Use a knife blade or thin screwdriver to lever out the panel clips around the front, rear, bottom edges. Once free of door, the panel can be pivotted at the front, and sat on the door sill (as though door is shut) while you work on the door itself, if necessary.
If much of the plastic parts are brocken or cracked , look for the metal re-inforcing parts some of the big 3 might sell still- well worth doing. BTDT

Remove screw at rear of doorhandle surround, unclip surround & remove.
Pop out top rear of insert (above door pocket) and pull backwards to remove
Undo three bolts exposed by insert
Remove 2 bolts inside door pocket (no need to remove lid)
Remove fresh air duct surround in front edge of door (pops out) and undo the now exposed bolt into door.
Lift off Door pocket top along with switch panel - disconnect wiring to door switches.

Undo 2 screws that fasten wiring surround (front of door) sklide surround forwards onto oval plastic tube.
If your door has been removed before you will note that the door panel has probably been cut on the door side of the hole left by the wiring surround - this is to let you remove the panel while leaving the wires to the door in place - if it's not cut - cut it.
Remove 2 screws at bottom of door in carpet
Unclip centre of door lock **** then unscrew phillips screw to remove door lock ****, then unscrew door lock **** surround.
Pull bottom of panel inwards to undo pop fasteners along bottom edce, then un pop up the sides of the panel.
Pull top of panel inwards along the top edge working from front to back (just two pops to undo here) panel should now be free and just held at top rear by a locating pin that pointsbackwards into the door frame, raise front of panel slightly and slide it forwards about 1 inch.

Job done.

Sounds complex but it's pretty simple when it's in front of you.
Tools required - 1/4" drive 10mm socket and ratchet, phillips screwdriver.

+1 on using brush on contact adhesive - the type that glue sniffers like ! - normally applied to both surfaces and let to stand for 10 minutes. Spray would be ,well, oversprayl.
I normally spread it using wooden coffee stirrers.

dont forget to add a door vapor barrier.

Go to the dollar store and buy a clear shower curtain,
then use the brush on glue to secure it to the door .
put drip panels in first, glue along the top edge then drape inside the opening about an inch below the bottom edge. Then cover the whole door with the curtain.
This will keep water from getting on the door panel and warping it

Need to lift the electrical control panel on the door handle first and unplug mirror controller etc connectors. also pop out the door interior light and remember which way the 3 connectors go. There will also probably be two audio wires attached to the splitter fixed to the inside of the card when you remove it.

Don't miss that hidden screw almost underneath the plastic cable protector where it meets the door. Two Philips screws hold in that wedge shaped piece of plastic and photos show the easy one and its secret sister.
