Default cheap digital clock mod

doing my 88 interior semi resto and low and behold another exploded digital clock (this is the 3rd clock)... installed the new audio head unit that has a clock so what to do??

I had a roll of faux black leather contact paper, pulled and capped the wires and covered the face and put back in
not bad if you ask me... and at less than $1 it's definately CHEAP

Nice!
And, of course, the gray-green interior ROCKS!

Other than the rare/expensive GTS analog clock, has anybody found a nice drop in replacement for the rectangular digital?? I've seen some creative work arounds, and the clocks Nicole has are very nice, but nothing I would consider a perfect replacement..

Not a clock, but a digital voltmeter hiding a radar detector.

Greg,

Remote radar display is an excellent use for that spot, although at ~$1,600, the Passport 9500ci is even more than a GTS analog clock.....

Leads to a good point though. Replacement does not have to be an analog clock. Even a good digital clock that had a display that filled that area and looked modern and looked like it was designed for the space would be good. Even better would be a multi-function display, again that went in easily..or how about <gasp>, a pop-out cup holder????

What I don't want is something I have to spend 10 hours engineering, enough other things on my shark that need attention, and my home engineering attempts often end up looking like crap. Its kind of my special power, turning hours of work, lots of money into ugly trash...

I removed the clock, put a plate with two cig lighters in it's place. I can now charge my phone and run the radar. I have a spare with a broken clock if I ever need to restore it to original.
