Default central locking controller

Am having prblems with the central locking on my early 89 928 S4 (non cat, european)
When locking from the key fob and central locking button it locks fine. when unlocking from the fob (or button) the pins only come up half way. If I press the central locking button a couple more times they gradually come up. Have disconnected each door actuator in turn but still the same. Have taken both door lock mechanisms apart, cleaned and greased them and they are free and work easily with the keys and ****. (They even occasionally work properly when the car has been running and left for a while but only intermittently)
Have been trying to find the central locking controller but cant find it anywhere!
(under center consol, under foot rest, under seats, under plug in cover, behind fuse board. Just cannot find it!
Could anyone shed light on the problem and/or suggest where the contoller might be?

I'm guessing you intended to post this in the 928 forum?

Perhaps Bob will move it over there for you.

Only coming "halfway" up would indicate a mechanical issue. You took apart and greased the locks, but I would look at the lock motor position relative to the lock. You may need to move it a tad one way or the other to get it to actuate properly.

if you took the inner door lock ***** off then you may have over tightend them remove the **** covers and remove the ***** then try the door locks, use loctite on the screws when you install them (These are the ***** used for locking and unlocking the doors inside the car)

Dear Frustrated--

Did you check the system voltage at the jump post as I recommended previously? Low systemvoltage (bad connections, weak battery) will cause that part-motion symptom at the locks.
