Default We have "period correct" tunes! Thanks Dave and Stefan

I obtained a 6 channel amp from 928 Specialists and sent it to Stefan at SW Stereo. He mated it with my cable (repaired by him after I destroyed one plug) and the CD2 I purchased. It all works on his bench. I just heard a CD from my equipment on the phone! Now to achieve the same in my car!
Stefan and SW Stereo were recommended on this board and that is why I sent my stuff to him in New Jersey. His service is outstanding and his charges are very reasonable. If you need European auto audio services or equipment, contact Stefan.

Very cool Jim! It's really rewarding getting a car back the way it came from the factory.

Where did you find a working CD2?

I only have Huey on cassette!

I posted a "wanted CD2" here and on Pelican. Got a response from a fellow who had one on the shelf for many years. He had sent it to Alpine for repair and installed another unit in his car. Never reinstalled the CD2. Came with a code and manual and it works!
I have two others but neither have a code.

Jim,
That is GREAT NEWS! Your CD2 journey is almost over!! The CDR220 was not working with CD's when it got to Jim C's house, but he is AMAZING and got it all working again! Just some parts that got bent at some point (he speculates a drop somewhere along the way) and he bent them back and BINGO! ALL GOOD AGAIN!

He is going to run it a bit more and figure out the wiring for it and then send it on to me and I'll be replacing my in-op CD2 in my S4 with this awesome unit! Thanks for selling me the CDR220 Jim!

James, maybe we will both have sound soon! Sorry to learn the CD was a problem but relieved to learn that it was an easy fix for Jim. Fingers crossed!
I wonder if my two codeless units could be used as part donors to make your CD 2 work. That is if anyone knows how to repair them. For all I know the two I have could operate just fine if only I had a code.

More than willing to send my CD2 on to any location to be mated with your codeless CD2's to see if we can get at least ONE working...love to have a fully functional CD2 in the event I ever have to sell the S4 (heaven forbid!)
