I would consider going with the Koni's on Eibachs. We just installed a set on a GTS, Koni's set to soft and the ride was fantastic. Much better than my new Boge/Eibach set up.

I think Rog is selling the Koni's for $650.00 a set, might need to give him a call and confer though.

Well, I have put Eibach/Bilstein combo on one of those "early cars", '79 auto, couple of years ago. I am very pleased with the results and I still have all my teeth and fillings. The car had been transformed into a considerably more nimble machine and I enjoy driving it like never before - after 15 yr. ownership. Perhaps suspension setups work differently "down-under" ;-)

+1. I don't think that I'd change the Eibach/Bilstein setup that I have in my GT in search of a 'less jarring' ride. Admittedly, the setup is far firmer and stiffer than what it replaced, but that's what I needed. IMO, the ride isn't fatiguing over time & distance & I wouldn't consider it teeth rattling like Greg and Andy find it to be.
I must say that in the winter months, the Bilsteins are particularly stiff until they warm up.

My car is a factory M474 set up. I replaced the fronts with new from 928intl 7+ years ago. I had the rears refurbed 3-4 years ago, valved at what my wrench called 'Monte Carlo' settings. Still have original springs. Everything is at stock heights, and aligned properly.
It doesnt feel harsh to me, except when I get onto a broken surface in poorly maintained suburban streets. I run tyres at 38-40psi all around.
YMMV

Andy -

I also have Bilsteins on stock 93 GTS springs, and it doesn't really rattle my teeth at all. The ride is somewhat more firm than stock. OTOH, hard cornering is noticeably more planted with less body roll than the stock Boge's. So handling is better.

However, when slowly rolling over the 1" curb at the entry to my driveway... Or if I happen to hit a small pothole or crack in the road, I get a "clunk" sound that only started when the Bilsteins were installed.

Do you have this same phenomenon?

for street driven 928's....the stock spring + bilsteins is EXCELLENT..... I did ride in a bilstein-eibach street car and it was very firm.....so much so that I didn't like it....koni's on stock springs is also pretty good....but I like the bilsteins better......the konis are just a touch more harsh on compression and less damped on rebound....

The cut eibachs on the estate are even stiffer...but feel great on track....nice and well damped, without being too harsh....if the ride height drops too low in front they get a touch more harsh...but a couple rotations on the spring fix that!

Well I ended up purchasing a set of Bilstein/Eibachs from a fellow Rennlist member and I must say while the handling has greatly improved from the stock Boges, the ride quality is just slightly harsher. The only major difference I noticed are major imperfections in the road, I defiantly notice them now. While I was in the front I upgraded to steel ball joints, replaced the upper ball joint boots, installed new tie rods along with '17 Cup II, new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. The car is a totally different animal now! It no longer has the floating feel, it corners on rails and just feels planted. I hope to do a DE in the next month or so to push the new setup. I would do the Bilstein/Eibach setup again.
