Tail lamps-whether the indented OB style, warp-around S4/GT or the wrap and cross-over GTS.

They all just scream "GO!"

I guess that puts me in the rear-end camp...

+1 on the pod/instrument cluster that moves with the steering wheel. I've never seen that on any other car. Just brilliant! And of course, everything else.

This comment rang a bell with me, did some research, and found some surprises.

"integrated bumpers" isn't quite right, but I had a 1970 Firebird (Ram Air III Formula 400) that had "endura bumpers":

The Endura Bumper wasn't the same as the 928's, it was a solid rubber-like compound that was the bumper itself, not a cover over bumper shocks. Where did Pontiac get this idea? Started in the late 60's with the GTO as far as production models are concerned. But in researching this, I saw references to a concept car, the 1962 Corvair Monza GT:

Guess who had a hand in designing this concept car? Tony Lapine.

I was pretty sure that the molded bumpers were one of the design elements introduced (in mass production) in the 928. There was mention of getting the paint to match on the rubber/plastic bumpers without fading. I'll have to check my copy of Projekt 928 again...

Its squared stance. Its ability to lope a 1000kl in a day. To step out of those recaro's and feel totally relaxed. So many of todays 'supercars', described as beautiful, are still taking design cues from this classic '70's design. Oh .. and .. no chrome!

I've always been a "**** and ***" guy and that's what I love most about the 928.

A nice sculpted rear and unique headlights.

The tail lights pre-S4, in their individual square recesses. Ironic as I have an S4. When these cars were new that was always the design element which fascinated and drew me.

My first memory of the 928 was an example in white with flawless Pasha/ linen interior. I had the opportunity to sit in that car and that memory stayed with me since. Nothing else like it. After waiting nearly thirty years to sit in one of my own (and although my interior is custom ) I still had fond memories of that first 928 seen interior.
