Here is the big site with all the pics of this car...
Look at the third pic down... The top of the door fits perfectly tight just like all 928's, now look at the bottom trailing edge of the door... What is that about?

It sure looks nice....as a 6600 mile example should...BUT the price is quite optimistic.... I would say by double..... $20k would be top dollar....$40k is not realistic.... You can get reasonably low mileage GTS's for that type of $$$....86.5's are quite undervalued in todays market...but $40k...just isn't gonna happen..... I think Froggy went for just a bit more than that..and it was 1400 miles in a VERY rare color combo..... I think Chuck would DIE rather than drive Froggy anywhere with snow on the ground!!

Brian,
This is not even an 86.5...just a plain jane '86.
Kermit's color was not unusual nor was the interior for its era that combination was more popular than you might think. We don't see a whole bunch of them today, but they built WAY more just like Kermit than they did Cobalt Blue GTS's for instance...of course they didn't build many GTS's period I guess. Still, that is not to difficult a color to find on an early car.
As noted Kermit was something VERY, VERY special and I agree $50kish for Kermit I would guess and they think this is a $40k car? DREAMING!

So, it sold for $32k, then it sold for +$38, now it's being offered for $23.5k?
Yeah, sure. Anyone want to buy a bridge in east side of NY? I've lowered the price to $20mil, but you gotta have $100k deposit.

They had an offer and $30k and didn't take it (though I told them they should have)... Then it was ACTUALLY listed at $38kish (or whatever it was) and now, MAYBE they got a CLUE and realized it probably is a $25kish car!
Like I said, when I was contacted about this I had been told a $30k offer had been made and I told them they needed to take the money are RUN WITH IT! They didn't...maybe the offer was not a real offer in the first place...maybe they were greedy and the person backed out...who knows. I think at $23,500 it is a VERY GOOD BUY!

Even though it would be so much better if this were an 86 Euro, for many reasons this is one of the most desirable 928's in existence. Probably the best color combo, black just looks great on a 928 exterior and you can't go wrong with black inside, a little saddle for 2 tone would have helped. It's got the 5 speed for those that like it.
And for many of us it is the OB body style which I have always liked better. Regardless of what they paid for it, it is just an incredible car, does not even look like 600 miles to me. BTW I saw kermit being driven years ago with the For sale sign and price on it. Profit to the seller should not bother anyone.
86 vs. 86.5 what is the difference 60-0 a few feet, big deal.
Stunning 928 - they all should look so good and be worth that money and more, luckily they don't when you are buying.

It is an S body style, NOT an OB...if it were an OB it wouldn't have the ducts for the front brakes or the holes for the front spoiler to mount and it would have different rear quarter and hatch glass that don't have the black sticker or paint added so you don't see the back side of the S spoilers... Oh, OB's don't have the S spoilers on the front or back either...

My goodness. This is extremely tempting, especially at this price. I just bought an 06 Mustang for a little less - had this been available at this price, there would have been no thought to it.
This is a chance to own a virtually new 928! I know there is a contingent out there that says thousands will need to be spent to drive it, but I disagree with that. Just fix what breaks when it does (and of course, keep maintanance up to date as normal).
Somebody grab this car!

James - your crusade on the OB term is both admirable and comical and resembles a dead horse. For most of us with near 30 years association with 928's it will always be 78-86 and 87-95 flared fenders and spoilers aside.
Ed- H4's, GTS mirror's, wide 18" rubber, flexible fuel lines, fluids and techron and you're good to go in one of the best cars on the road at any price. Oh and a real nice exhaust.

I actually think the majority of people here recognize that there are REAL differences between OB's and S's...they actually LOOK at the cars...it is pretty obvious, you might look at them side by side someday and see the difference. Actually you can even feel the difference if you just want to run your hands over the bodies (I kind of like to do that myself!)
Yea, very dead horse like isn't it! Kind of like Rush Limbaugh I'll keep after it till everyone agrees with me or I die trying to gain their commitment! LOL!
