Default PS Pump rebuild kit

Last fall, I bought a PS pump rebuild for my GTS. Today. I got around to doing the rebuild, and not one of the seals fits my pump!

Does anyone know an alternate source for rebuilding a GTS PS pump?

thanks,
Tom D.

I'm not sure where you got you seal kit from but Rennbay sells a kit.

The 100bar pumps from GTS (I think MY90+?) are different inside to the earlier 75 bar pumps.

That seal kit fits the 75 bar pumps (which my '89 has).

I bought a PS pump from an '86 to rebuild on the bench to do a swap for my 89's noisy one, but it turned out the '86 car had been given an upgrade to the later pump.

Sorry - I forgot to mention that I got the kit from RennBay . And I do have the 100bar pump, not the 75.

I ran into the same issue. Ended up replacing a few generic o-rings, but had to leave the shaft seal(s). Thankfully it's not leaking. Please update us if you get all the seals/rings to rebuild it.

Is there an easy way to determine if you have the 100 bar pump ? ie on the car, not when you realise the seals for the 75bar won't fit.

On my surprise 100 bar pump, there's a small foil sticker on the outside with "100 bar" on it, along with other markings

Don't know if you can see the label with the pump in the car, but this is what mine looks like.

I've e-mailed Roger about the correct seals, but haven't heard back yet.

Tom,

Why are you rebuilding it?
Was it leaking? not producing pressure?

Colin,

No. Just WYAIT. I've been replacing rubber items as I get the chance, since they seem to have deteriorated on this car. In this, case it turns out the shaft seal looks pretty rough.

For all pump and other things like this I would recommend not fixing it till it's broken

instead wait for it to make noise, not produce pressure etc before taking apart.
