Just an F.Y.I., there is a purchase check list on Rennlist for the 928. It is very extensive if you have the time, inclination and the seller does not mind. But with that, nothing like a true 928 mech. to look it over....

You can call SM Motorsports in New Hyde Park, NY 516 775-8655. It's a little bit out of your way, but every time I've passed their place they have had more than one 928 on the premise. 928 mechanics are becoming rarer as time goes on.

Thanks a lot for suggestions guys. I will be taking the car to Formula Motorsports on Monday. I'm going to check out SM Motorsports and maybe even DaMan Motorsports at later stage (given that this 928 stays with me, of course...)

I could not remember that place's name forever.

There's also JSS Performance, also in New Hyde Park: 516-877-9899

Have you had personal experience with either of these shops?

Just checked--my bad--SM did NOT do the work on the 911 Cab for my friend. I cannot give any basis, good or bad, for a rec.

JSS, only saw the end results-928 that my next door neighbor sold at his Mercedes dealership. Car was nearly perfect. Work was done just 1 year ago. Looking at the invoice they were very thorough and reasonable.
