X-Pipe Installed, GTS now throwing Check Engine Light

That's some funny chit right there.
Happy Easter everyone.
Happy Easter everyone.
Dang!
Rough crowd on Easter Morning!!
I thought I'd wake up to a
"Dude it's going to be ok, don't worry about it, we have a fix for you, btw have a great Easter, yada yada yada."
But Nooooooooo!!!! (best John Belushi voice)
DR,
Yeah, Based on direction from Sean and his mechanical skills,I tried to actually screw the O2 sensor into the pass coolant drain plug but it wouldnt fit, not to mention the fact that I got a face full of coolant!
Good idea on the ground. I'll do that first and see if it cures the problem.
Roger,
Sean said that he disabled the ""I am a 5 speed and this extra power is way more than I can handle code".
If the ground doesn't work, You know I"ll be over later this week for the Hammer Hookup!!
BTW, I noticed that the idle is a little higher than it was as well. Now in between 900 and 1,000 RPM. (used to be below 900) Will the hammer reset all this??
Also, I did not jack w plugging any of the hardware associated with the airpump, we just cut the belt and left the plumming in place. When we do the tbwp (next job on the list) I'll eliminate all that with the non-airpump porkentensioner. Anything vacuum lines or anything that needs to be plugged in the meantime??
Gracias!!

Chuck,
If that doesn't work you can check the error code with the check engine light to see what it is unhappy about.
Shop manuals > Volume 1-A > Section 24 > Page 29?(IIRC) for info on checking and deciphering the Check Engine light flash codes.

Mine's an '85 but I did the xpipe install a couple of weeks ago, so I'm just throwing these out there if the reset doesn't fix it:
1. If you pulled the air pump and all the other bits associated, then (on the '85) you'll have a vacuum line that goes to a valve that does nothing. I removed the valve and the vacuum line and capped it at the throttle body - you at least want to make sure it doesn't leak.
2. The 85s (or my 85 at least :P ) uses only one o2 sensor. If that's the case on the GTS (probably not) you'll want to make sure that the bung is capped tightly.

Sean,
No wonder your car only made 250hp, you had a rag shoved in your driver side intake!!!
BTW, just took the car out.
Car back at normal idle, Check engine light out, but the car threw the ""I am a 5speed and this extra power is way more than I can handle code" that I thought Sean disabled. WTF???
Car pulls like a **** and sounds bad to the bone!!!
Lovin it!!

The drive was great. I went to move the car after I got it home after being parked for 20 minutes or so and there was a pretty big puddle of oil coming from part# 9281164116R and it wouldn't start.
I then checked the oil and I was bone dry?
Any suggestions?

Brian,
Glad to hear you made it home safe. Sorry to hear about the car, give Sean a call and discuss. Hopefully she let her oil loose as you hit the driveway.
Roger, Shifter feels much tighter and improved quite a bit with the front ball cup. The Rear shift coupler made a bigger difference as the shifter was like stirring oatmeal before we did it.
I will move to the Lizard shifter though, it's much a much shorter/better shifter!!

That oil is coming from the inspection plug hole on the bellhousing, and is almost certainly a rear main seal leaking. Much easier to fix on the manual trans car vs the auto boxes, if that makes you feel any better.
