While looking for various 5-speeds and LSD units, I came to wonder why the drawing for a -20 LSD ("4 disc") is the same as the drawing for the -04 LSD ("8 disc)." I've seen other drawings of the -20 that appear to match my idea of what a 4 disc should look like, but can't find one in the 85, 86, 87 or 89 PET, nor in the WSM. What am I missing here?

The repair manual #2 shows 8-disc == 2 inner and 6 outer and the 4-disc == 2 inner and 2 outer and their are thickness rules in play.

Yep-but my WSM doesn't show an 8 disc LSD and the 8 disc PET that calls for 6 outer and 2 inner, has a diagram that shows two outer and two side by side inners per side, ie 4 + 4 = 8. So, nothing is very consistent. Faucett even shows a different set-up on his site. The drawing calls for 6 + 2, but he's selling 4 + 4. I'm calling him in the morning to clear my head.
