have you tried putting air to the spark plug holes to see of you can hear where its leaking out yet? With the cams out of that head it should be a pretty good tell tale as to what the problem is, and would be easy and fast it you have access to an air compressor. You obviously have a compression test, and the lead usually is attached to the dial gauge by a standard quick connector. just hook it to your air line (with the regulator turned all the way down) then slowly turn the reg up and listen for where the air leaks out. shouldn't take but a few psi to hear the leak if you've got 0 compression. remember the crank may try to spin if the cylinder you put air in isn't at BDC, so I'd just put in enough pressure to hear it leaking. If you hear at he intake it's intake valves, at the exhaust its exhaust valves and with the oil filler open if you hear it at the filler then rings, pistons head gasket...

Ok, so thank you all for the input!!! come find out not bent valves or timing... not any any hepper but i know now why drivers side had no compression.

Findings: I have a 1985 928s that we had to do a valve job on, I ordered the parts but what they sent me was two packs one that I now find out is for a 1987 928!!!! Drivers side has 1987 valves in her, sucks but now know what needs to be fixed..... back to work.

Who ever did the machine work on the heads does not need to be the one that does it again.

1987 intake valves are 2mm longer than stock 85/86 intake valves. I can understand why you had no compression.

Put the cam in and the valves would be open.......

Update: V8 is back in and sounds great......BUT now I have a rattle that seems to be coming from the bell housing and it only at low RPM. TT was replaced 21/2 years ago. I never had this rattle before. With the car off, I can hear it a little when I rotate the flywheel. What am I missing here. Standing back and thinking. I'v looked at most of the older post and the only thing I've not done is re-tighten the rear side of the tt pinch bolts due to the sound not coming from the rear. I know at times the sound can travel dowm the tube. Ask away and thank you for the input.

Talked to Roger and could only wish he was here... thanks Roger
