I moved to Mequon, about 15 minutes north of Milwaukee, a couple months ago. I've heard of Kenosha, but I'm not sure where it is yet.

P.S. Anyone familiar with 928s is going to tell you to get a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic familiar with 928s, no matter how nice the car looks in person!

I am in Chilton, which I realize is not exactly near Milwaukee, but I drive to Chicago every week so I see Milwaukee and I-94 as it goes past Racine and Kenosha very frequently.

Price/value is a matter of opinion but you really need to have someone that really knows 928s check it over to avoid buying a very pretty driveway ornament.

Sounds like he is an A$$hole, good luck on your search....

The only 928 person I know of in this area to do a proper PPI would be: http://www.928eurogroup.com/index.html He is located in Waukesha. If I was the seller I would not send my car away for a PPI but rather I would tell the seller I would take it to the PPI mechanic for a small fee. I could then keep an eye on my car and decide if it was going to a good mechanic or some generic foreign car place (BTDT).

I don't know why he raised his price but you supposedly only had a handshake deal which is "no deal" unfortunately.

All of these 928's are old cars. In my opinion it won't matter much if you have a PPI done by the rare 928 knowledgeable mechanic or just have a veteran 928 owner look at it with you. Ask for repair records on the car. Be prepared for deferred mantenance costs. Do your due diligence and know what these cars are selling for in your market before going shopping.

Good Luck with your search.
