Default New belts and pump!

Ah one more project complete!

New water pump/timing belt & tensioner service behind me. Just wanted to give another shout out to Paul/(Zeus) for all his help! Took us about 4.5 hours of actual work time to compelte the service. This considering we used around 4 cans of brake clean and a lot of compressed air to clean all the crap out of the lower area. Old belt teeth, old gasket material, leaves oil and just road grime. Yikes!

Oh... and also considering I was mostly there as a cheer leader and a flashlight holder. LOL. I did at least get to hold a couple parts in place and screw a few items back in place.

I did get the Dominos too!

I know I would still be under the car now if it were not for Paul/Zeus. Thanks bud!

4.5 Hours! That's fast. "Old belt teeth"? That's scary.

Yep, thats fast. Especially since my TB/WP project, plus multiple other little things (brake lines, rotors, pads, air box supports, 14 pin connector, flex plate clamp, ect......) has taken me 3 1/2 months so far and it is not up and running yet.

Oh well, I'm getting close. I just have to set the timing with my 32 Vr (arrived in the mail today, yea!) and button it back up and its time to fire it up.

Congrats on the TB job, now get out there and enjoy it. That is what I am desperately wanting right now.

It was much quicker than either of us expected. We had budgeted time Sunday just in case... but got it all done Saturday afternoon!

The old belt teeth. Must have been from the PO. The belt that came off when we were working on it was in good shape. Our theory is that the PO just threw in a new belt and water pump. The tensioner was dry inside... whoops. So that was taken care of. Again... me watch Paul do. :-)

It is good to not have to worry about the TB any more. Well tension check coming in about 1.5 months but other than that... time to ride!
