Vacuum Lines
Two questions...
Has anyone ever used these? Opinions?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...#ht_1184wt_931
2nd question...
I'm having a fuel delivery issue with my '79... with the help of Joe, Polecat702, we deduced that the issue is with the(and I'm not sure if this is what it's called) fuel distributor(pictured). It seems that the vacuum line attached to it is old and deteriorated and not producing any vacuum to pull up the internal diaphragm enough to let the fuel flow through. My question is this... can I hook a vacuum line to the top of it and 'siphon' enough air manually to lift the diaphragm to see if this is the actual problem?
I chose my words carefully as not to inspire and 'sucking' jokes - so let's not hear any! Thanks, Russ & Russ

Russ,
I have them. The only issue I had was that they were shipped without the 928 motorsports silver stickers that I like so much. I put them on all kinds of stuff.
When I called to complain, Gretchen I believe her name was, sent me me out several in the mail. After that, everthing was fine. The hoses are great.

That doesn't look like a CIS fuel distributor to me. They're at the port-side back of the engine compartment and will have more than 8 steel lines attached. The eight radiating ones will each go to a cylinder.

what your talking about is the WUR aka the warm up regulator along with the new vacuum lines you should also take the fuel lines off the top and look inside to make sure that the filter screens aren't filled with debris.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't feel like I would trust the troubleshooting result of a fuel delivery issue if you don't know the difference between the WUR and CIS fuel distributor.
It would help if you tell us what symptoms you are having too. There are many, many write-ups on CIS troubleshooting/fixes on rennlist. I would do a search as well.
