Default Pics of my Genuine Porsche 9" Front Wheel with 69 mm offset

The wheels haven't been painted as yet because I only have the fronts, the rear rims were apparently stolen in Texas, the seller fully refunded me but finding rears has been difficult. Luckily those 10 spoke centres are very sturdy. These wheels will be used on my wife's car.

Very impressive, I'm curious how you managed to get the 67mm offset from those Sport Design wheels?

Greg,

did you have a new wheel round made to use with the factory center section of those wheels? They are a 2 piece, I love the wheel design but to my knowledge they never came any larger than 7.5" for the fronts. How did you come across these?

O.K this is a pretty simple thing to do. What you need is a 7.5" wheel and a 9" wheel and you put the centre from the 7.5" into the 9" outer. This outer is a Boxter rear wheel, then wunderbar! You have made a 69 mm offset front wheel. I thought somebody would guess how it was done since the bolts are missing from the centre.

Greg

P.S if somebody knows of a pair or even one 10" rear rim could you please let me know. I am going to use shadow chrome on the spokes. That is a Glasurit finish that is quite popular and should look pretty darn good.

cool so you need 6 wheels to get a good set of 4

great idea though. The 928 needs a wider front wheel then they make for the rear engined 911's

So just to verify the numbers:

Wheel: Porsche Sport Design

Front
2 x 18x7.5" ET50 Inner piece
2 x 18x9" ET52 Outer piece

Rear
2 x 18x10" ET65

Is this all correct?

So what kind of wheel offset do you get if you take the center out of the 9" wheel and put it on the 7.5"?? 7.5" x ??mm

Quick calculation puts it at ET33 if you move the 9" center onto the 7.5" rim. Think this may actually fit early 944 and 911 offset requirements?

Greg - any rubbing lock-to-lock on the wheel wells or suspension with the ET69 fronts?

Hilton I didn't check the clearances as that car has custom upper control arms.

Greg,

I have a spare 10" in minty shape. Not sure it would do you much good though as a single.

Thanks,
Hans

The only down side is weight. Probably 26-29 lbs for the 9" front.

Greg,

Fascinating! Halfway around the world from each other, and we are completing the process of making a set of identical wheels. I discovered the dimensions of these wheels (7.5" et 50 and 9" et 52) for the Sport Design and the Sport Classic wheels made by BBS about a year ago, and decided to make the 9" et 69 for the front of my GTS. Took a while to obtain the two pairs of wheels, but I just disassembled all four last week, and am now polishing and removing a small amount of curb rash from the 9" rims. I'll be ready to re-assemble and mount mine on the car within a couple of weeks. I think this makes a great looking and great handling option for the 928. Congratulations - I was waiting until mine were complete to post on Rennlist, but glad it's finally been done by someone.

Greg, I also have a pair of 10" et 65 Sport Design wheels that are in excellent condition. I had to buy these to get the spare set of 7.5" wheels, so they are available. If you are interested, please end me an e-mail, or PM, and I'll get back to you about them Obviously, shipping to OZ is a bit expensive, but these are really in great condition and appearance.

Cheers mate,
