Nicole, I play CDs I've downloaded from iTunes and burned onto CDs on my Becker CDR radio in my 928. I presume that radio is more recent and accepts those CDs? It was originally meant for a Porsche Boxster. Guess I'll have to get XM radio for trips. But of course the 928 is for road trips so it is a moot point. Can't have it all my way.

I caravanned down I-5 with Bill ball to Sharktoberfest in October and learned that short bursts of 100+ in the right lane can make short shrift of the clusters.

Of course I "learned" this while neither of us actually exceeded the posted speed limit. YMMV.

My V-1 problem is no more; I have a damaged "thing I plug into the cigarette lighter" and will replace it. Happy days are here again.

I love Texas. The signs there read simply: "Keep Right Except to Pass", and most of the drivers do. Amazing! We need to adopt that signage in California, but so many people probably can't read, and if they could, they can't understand what they're reading (it seems). Uh oh... here I go again.

I've heard drivers say "But I'm comfortable in the left lane..." - Yes, sure you are. But what about the 50 others behind you?

I think we have a law that requires you to pull over, if you have more than four cars behind you. It's been a few years since I got my license - am I supposed to know this in detail???

5 cars, I recall. The truth is that you are required to drive right unless you are faster than the right lane traffic and so should yeild to anyone approaching from the rear. Logic would dictate you should move right anyway following a pass of another car. You should not be in a fast lane unless passing unless you have eyes both in front of and behind your head. My theory is that drivers feel comfortable in the left lane because they now have to worry about traffic in one less lane and on only one side. But it is all a moot point because it is simply less safe to pass in the right lane on roads where left hand drive cars are used and off ramps are on the right. Period. End of discussion. But if that principle was enforced, think about how many people would be out of work. And the population would increase dramatically.

Stay away from El Paso. More people driving around here with their heads up their *** than anyplace I've ever been- INCLUDING California!
Of course, most people try to stay away from El Paso, anyway.

Tell me about it!! I was born in Hell Paso. Of course I can think of one place with worse drivers, and it isn't anywhere near Texas or California, but it is in the United States.

No kidding! I just moved here from the Bay Area! Once school at NMSU is over, I'm outta here.
The people are much nicer here than the Gray Area, though.

Ron, you are burning regular audio CD's from itunes, the Becker CDR-220 from a Boxster does not play MP3's. The SAAB deck might be a little touchy playing CDR's. Try burning at a slow speed 4-8X and give that a try.

Thanks for the tip Bob. I also tried playing pre-recorded audio CDs with no results. However, Nicole has suggested disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it. Then enter the radio code when prompted. She said this has happened in the past. I think that will work, but won't know until tomorrow.

The Saab's CD changer must communicate properly with the radio/cassette unit in the dash. If the battery is disconnected even for a second, you have to enter a four digit code. That code also unlocks the CD-changer.

Once in the past, the CD-changer did not work after I entered the code, and I thought it was broken. The next time I disconnected the battery, and re-entered the code, the CD-changer started working normally again.

A few weeks back I ran down the battery while thoroughly cleaning the interior (moving seats back and forth, listening to music, etc), and it's possible the CD-changer did not read the radio code after I entered it. At that point I had already taken all my CDs out, and did not retest the system. Sorry for that!

You have the radio code, but I'll be happy to help. This should be easy.
