Full size spare - which size rim to use?

Well if your theory is correct about carrying a spare eliminating the need for one it totally makes sense to keep an original. It packages very nicely in the spare tire well, you can get one with an aluminum (red) rim which will be the lightest spare you could carry, and it will attach to the factory hold down and not bludgeon you in the event of an accident.
