Question 928 Registry

I have some trouble getting in touch with these guys. I bought PerryS4's 928 in November. I have emailed them several times, tried to access the site via the web to update information and can't seem to get anywhere.

Anyone have a way to contact them where I'll actually get a response?

I want to update the listing with my information, pictures and other stuff.

Okay. Just found it strange I couldn't access it from the web with the update button, kept getting an error.

Tried several browsers on different OS platforms to no avail

Chuck has been kind enough to keep the registry alive after all these years. Unfortunately he doesn't really have any support, financial or physical and it is something he does on his free time. Typically he updates when he has multiple changes to make so it may take some time.

I've personally never asked him to update the registry with my info, I think its pretty cool that the original owners info is on there!

Jeff et al, please understand that I do this as a hobby for the sole benefit of the 928 community and pay ALL costs associated with maintaining the web site (~$40/month!) are paid by me. BTW, there is an option to donate to the cause and I can count on one hand (not including my thumb......) the number of folks who have actually contributed....... Soooooooooooo, from what I see, people like to use the site and complain when things don't happen fast enough but aren't willing to support the site financially!!!!!!!! It is just me, not a group with a support staff and I do have a regular job that does not necessarily allow me to work on this "hobby" as I wish...... I admit, I am not the most website savvy webmiester out there and my free time is very limited.....

Recently there have been some changes with my hosting company to where my registration pages have become inoperable. I have tried to repair them to no avail......

I am truly sorry for the delay but I have gotten your emails and will update your car along with all the other registrations I have when time permits after I can figure out why my registration form is no longer working........

Best,

There's a link on the Registry home page. Click here to go there. I'm in for a month too.

Chuck,

Thanks for all your hard work bro'! I certainly appreciate it as do the rest of the members here. Remember there are always new folks coming on board and don't (didn't till your post) realize just how much you do and how this is your own deal and hobby and that you don't get ANY support on it!

Glad you put it out there so folks will realize just how much work it is and how much work you have done for the community!

Thanks guys. I'm not trying to act like a victim here b/c I'm not. I do this with eyes wide open. I do this b/c I feel it important for the history and documentation of the 928. I guess what gets to me is some seem to expect that this site was/is part of the purchase price included with their 928 and forget that there is actually a human being behind the scenes who makes it happen and actually pays for it- and its not them......!.

I recall some time ago you asked for help with maintaining the registry. My offer still stands if there is anything I can do. Thanks for keeping it alive.

You are correct and the guys that helped out did a great job. I ended up with a bazillion (relatively speaking of course) registrations (hopefully I got all of Shane's ) which required me to format and add to the site. Again, I'm not a very experienced webmaster and didn't want to give up admin rights for the sake of ease in updates. I'm sure there is a better way, I just don't know what it is......
