Yeah, the rest of the offset info is raised and is part of the casting, the '60' is stamped on a front 8" rim:

There seems to be some confusion here.

The 944 Turbo S MY 1989 Club Sport design wheels are 7" ET65 (p/n 951 362 115 30) and 9" ET60 (p/n 928 362 119 30).

The 928 Club Sport MY 1988 REAL Club Sport wheels are 8" ET60 (p/n 928 362 117 30) and 9" ET60 (p/n 928 362 119 30).

The 928 GT MY 1989 Club Sport design wheels are 8" ET60 (p/n 928 362 157 30) and 9" ET60 (p/n 928 362 159 30).

This is according to the PET. The difference between the two different 928 sets of p/n's is provision for pressure sensors (option M482).

So where did the 8" ET52,3 Club Sport design wheel come from ? Please check against these p/n's.

First we need to know whether is has provision for pressure sensors.

There is a chance that is p/n 928 362 117 00 (no sensors) or 928 362 157 00 (sensors). This is a flat dish wheel, (forged, and with the decorations close to the edge). It is then machined to the Club Sport design by a previous owner.

Ragnar-

So now I'm confused- my wheels have no RDK sensors and were bought in California, but the part #'s are wrong for a U.S. '89 GT. The part # on the front rims is 928 362 117, as shown below. There is no '30' at the end of the part #.

So either:
1. PET is wrong about P/N's for U.S. '89 GT wheels, or
2) I have 'real' -'88 CS rims, or
3) I have a set of disc wheels where someone machined the spokes, ground off the 52.3 (is it stamped or embossed on disc wheels?) and stamped a '60' on them

Are these 'real' -'88 CS rims or not? They've got the '117' p/n and the 60 offset stamp.

(Note the 117 is raised, not stamped)

RE: an 8" ET52.3, you could certainly take a -'88 928 362 117 01 flat disc wheel and machine it to the CS profile, but isn't the spoke profile/curvature different on 'real' CS rims? (admittedly the the wheel in the foreground is a 9" rear, but you get the idea...)

This is tricky. I cannot tell. However things may not be all black and white. Porsche maybe had some raw wheels 928 362 117, that could be made into th flat dish 00 model or the Club Sport 30 model, and machine the ET as required.

I get Your point. If You go to this tread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/253898-who-s-got-the-coolest-wheels-gimme-pix.html, and see the pictures in post 665 (page 45), You see a 8" in the front and a 9" in the back. There is a difference in curvature, but not much. How the flat dish rims are, I cannot tell, most likely they are identical in terms of curvature.

The numbers on my old set of CS rims (recently sold) are the same as yours Rob with the same raised part and they were original to my 89GT. I'll have to check the ones currently on the GT (polished CS rims) to see if they are different.

Keep in mind that the pressure monitoring system was not available in the US on a 928 in 1989..

From what I remember from looking at my CS rims..the dish on the 8" is actually more pronounced than on the 9" CS rims.

For reference I have attached a link to a picture of a 8" Flat dish wheel.

The link goes to 928International, which then gives a good opportunity to shop some goodies.

I think I'll rummage through the wheels next time I'm up at Mark's and take a bunch of pics of flats to compare with my wheels, just for grins. Maybe next Wednesday.

Here's a pic of the set of CS rims I recently sold. Top left and bottom right are the 8" CS rims and the others are obviously the 9"s.

What's the largest effective tire that can be used on the CS wheels? The 245's really leave the edges of the rims vulnerable and it seems like a 9 inch rim could run something larger.

245/45 is widest size available - at least for standard road tires. You may find tracktires of 255 width.
