My 1979 Manual 928
Well not exactly my first post (as i immediately spotted Chris's watch thread on joining)
But as I've just purchased my first 928 I suspect I shall be spending a lot of time on here.
So I figured I should formally say hi, (hope its the right place)
rather a spur of the moment purchase as I've always fancied a 928 and always preffered the early ones, by complete fluke I found a 1979 RHD Manual with only 77K on the clock and 8 owners right on my doorstep at a price I couldn't refuse. The last owner just bought himself a 1969 911
so here a few pics and high from dull grey and wet England.

thanks guys
yeah the interior I was never a fan of many years ago but when I saw it I just found it so retro cool it won me over.
Just need get some basic service items done before I'm happy to put any miles on her
oil and filters look easy, can anyone tell me if I really need a special tool for the spark plugs? I've heard a rumour but my workshop manuals are still somewhere over the Atlantic at present
cheers

Nice! I found my 79 in the housing community where I work. Didn't even know it was there until I went to work through the community in a different route. It was 928 karma!
Good luck and welcome!

The special tool should be in the tool panel under the back window...
it is a long extension with a flexible plug socket on one end. You can use a standard plug socket and extension, but be careful to avoid having the plug disconnect down in the hole.

Sorry - poorly stated. It is just irritating to have the plug socket disconnect from the extension down in the plug hole. You can fish it out with a magnet - if you have a really strong magnet. The mechanical finger pick-up gadgets can't grab the slick socket. Better to tape the socket to the extension...

Welcome aboard. Beautiful car. Mine's a 78 with the op art interior. I love these old buggers!

BTW - Outstanding looking OB Shark, Mark!! I really like the pascha interior. Doesn't seem like there are many of those left. Especially in that good of condition.
