Rounded hex bolt on water bypass

Hi
Sorting out blown head gasket on my 86 Euro and have just found tonight that some PO has rounded one of the hex bolts that hold the water bypass/crossover to the head for cylinders 5-8. There's no room for gripping with a locking wrench and I can't get line of sight to use a drill.
Someone has mentioned on other posts about an extractor that grips the outside of the bolt but all the extractors in my local shops (UK) are of the reverse thread type
Anyone been here before and have a smart fix before I start butchering it?
Thx
Andrew

I'm amazed!! I've got mine from sears and have seen them in some of the better chain auto parts stores. a tool specifc or fastener specific shop should have them.
If no one has them over there, what's your timeline? Maybe we could ship you a set. It's really a case of proper tool, easy work, bodged tool, extended PITA.

Machine Mart stock the extractors. Should be branch near you or just order online. I have this set and they are lifesavers!

Thanks for the replies. I have a Machine Mart a few miles away but the only issue may be whether it will be short enough to go square at the bolt head. How long are the machine mart extractors? It's only two or three inches above the bolt head before I hit the casting for the bypass. If they aren't too long, they may work.
I had already ruled out trying a larger tapered hex as I can't get square enough on the head to whack it in. The other ones I saw on mail order were stud extractors but they seemed very wide for the stud diamater and there isn't enough clearance around the bolt for those. Ditto for the bulbous impact extractor that is available.

I have seen extractors that are similar to sockets. If you can find a set then it should be possible to get into with a socket using a right angled swival socket handle.

Those are what I have Andrew
they will do what you need, and they aren't any longer than an ordinary socket
they have saved me serious aresache on many occasions. An essential addition to the toolkit in my opinion
