Stuck Throttle

Don't know how well the brakes will stop WOT @ 80mph, but they will definitely keep one from moving away from a stop. That is a standard diagnostic test to check the stall speed on an automatic.

Holding power vs. stopping power are definitely two different animals...
I gave mine some gas turning onto a side street in a neighborhood when my throttle stuck. I don't think I was anywhere near WOT, but the lateral G's of the turn combined with the stuck throttle proved to me that my 928 can drift.
I wasn't trying to drift mind you, and not even standing on the brakes did anything to stop it. The curb did that -unsticking my stuck throttle. Wheel & suspension component replacement were the result... luckily that was all.
Upon further inspection with my mechanic, he found an aluminum tube being used as a vacuum line (P.O.) under the intake that could have interfered with the throttle. It was removed and a high-temp rubber vacuum line was put in its place as it should have been. Haven't had a problem since. Just to be sure, I lube the linkage and the cables on a regular basis.
