Default Mojave Mile

I was asked to photograph/video the Mojave Mile for MKM. They have started doing the
Standing Start, Mile Run type of events. This will be their 3rd event of this type, but the
first one in California, at the Mojave Air and Space Port. My car won't be ready to run,
but I thought I'd see if any other 928 owners are going (or have heard of it)? It's being
held on March 5-6th.

They've got some of my photos from prior Open Road Races events on the site, including
some with 928s.

I'm still shooting to get my car ready for the Bonneville 100 ORR in June then the Silver State
Classic in September.

Well I hope so. I know the 928 is not a Drag Racer, but a mile run
would be a little closer to what it's made for. Of course 90-100 miles
is a lot more fun...

Therulebook makes it out to be fairly minimum prep for a stock 928. It almost looks like they really don't want competition elts and stuff. A new group, maybe the rules aren't refined yet. Toughest seems to be the speed limit on the return taxiway.

Hi George,
Looks like a lot of fun, and not that expensive to prepare for. Would be fun for a group of us to get together and make a couple of passes I'd loike to see what my baby would do in a mile run

I know it is a little far, but I have a place about 90 miles from there if anyone needs a place to stay.

I think most of the Nor Cal guys are going to be at Infineon for the Lemons event.
I was hoping there'd be more interest from the SoCal folks and maybe meet a few
of you there.

Hey, Larry! Lynda still loves the CLK (rightfully so). I've been busy as hell lately. Between work and working on my master's degree and building flying time, I've had little time for car stuff. The shark is punishing me for not driving it as much, so I am trying to remedy that! It needs some work, like a radiator, mototr mounts, and the annoying TT rattle. Yeah, I'd like to do another supercar sunday soon!
