No, I didn't know that you could lock your own post or that there was a hall monitor. I hope that I am being good because I love it here and want to stay.

Oh quit being hyper sensitive!

We have not met yet, but my excuse is my initials and avatar

Have you googled "Douche Canoe", yet? The definition is just funny.

Welcome to the zoo, and did you bring a tomato shield?

Come on here, don't bother to use search, ask if the car has a timing belt = flame-on.

Or in my case, buy a car that is less than mechanically perfect and pay a very low price for it = flame on.

Otherwise, not so much.

That's all I buy.
The gold chainers want to kill them, though, so the investment value of theirs increase.
Odd logic. As if its going to happen in their lifetimes.

Same thing with the "what the market will bear" notions.
Nothing hurts the value more than a $8K car selling for $16K and the buyer, then the buyer's family, having remorse. The buyer stands tall, but the family (or what's left of it) tells 100 people how terrible these things are. When I see a car being offered on hype, I'm might make a comment. If an online seller has their value proposition undermined, so be-it.

Same thing with beaters. I drive one thats a beater on the interior. But it has gotten so many people re-interested in these cars, people who haven't seen one in years! It doesn't turn them off, they just aspire to have a better one.

With respect to thread that was locked when we commented on the Chicago car, good call. I was a little too strong in my criticism and the thread got weird.

Finally, one more edit add, no matter how you enter this hobby, try to add comraderie or at least value to this forum.

I think it is pretty easy to get along in this forum with no problems at all. Use search before you post a question. Listen to the advice you get. You can get as involved as you want in flame wars as you want, but only if that sort of thing is fun to you.
If you are going to get mixed up in that sort of thing, kick someone's *** right away so people know not f--- with you.
Oh, yeah, best to check your spelling too.

I feel I've made a few good friends here that I've never met. One day I'll meet them and buy them a beer!!!
Gotta Love this car!!!

I'd second that sentiment. It is strongly suggested to read the "New Visitors" thread and do a basic search before posting a question. Other than that, even posters with limited mechanical apptitude, such as myself, receive easy-to-follow helpful advice. You don't want to own a 928 without being a Rennlist member.

Or you could post a pic and whine about your OB with a non-standard ride height and a broken ball joint that caught fire during a tbf. Just ask "what should I have replaced first when I got this deal on my 928? I watched it sit in a field for years and convinced the owner to sell it, and immediately made it my daily driver. "

That'd definately get some "rtfm" action.

Hi

I have had some stick here but I love this forum and the Moderation is excellent in my opinion if things get too rowdy....

You guys always help (unlike some of the Uk Forums) and I am hugely appreciative....

If you want to see some stick.....wait until I announce what I am having changed in my Nitrous system...to increase the power..... and to what figure ...lol

All the best Brett
