THAT is the MOST STUPID idea i Have heard on a 928 in a long time.

The plug for the door is right there under the dash. A few screws and you can disconnect the white plug and also undo the door arrestor - and boom - you can install the seal the WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE.

Again, it was not your idea, but to cut that 175 dollar piece of rubber is a complete hack job.

They stretch a little when installed. So you need a foam glue so you can install it once that sets.

Whether or not it was the intent of your comment, when you refer to another member by name, and then call the suggestion the "MOST STUPID" (in caps no less) it comes across as a personal attack. Considering how often and how quickly Stan answers other peoples questions on this forum, I think he certainly deserves more courtesy than you've exhibited.

Yes, in his enthusiasm, Brendan can often be lacking in tact and sensitivity.

That said, I'll be cutting my seal and re-gluing it. Seems to be a no-brainer time saver.

Sorry BC.

Now back to my previous question that revived this thread:

No need for sorry. It's a hack, but it's your car.

On the subject of my tact and sensitivity- I say exactly what I mean and with the force for which it is meant. What I said and the meaning I gave it is still correct.

And yet you jump all over others for doing the same thing when, that at least in your mind, what is said doesn't contain sufficient sensitivity and deference to you? Stan has been a dean of this and several other boards for many years. He types basically just the facts and his advice. Take or leave it like everyone else. I have never, not once, seen him make a judgment against anybody for anything, and I read his stuff religously, since he knows what he is talking about. Of course there is always more than one way to skin any cat.
I read that other thread that got your panties in a nit, and I couldn't understand what you saw that was so upsetting. I have read your threads too over the years - You're a very high maintanence guy BC.

Hey you guys, I really appreciate your kind thoughts,
at this point it starting be like beating a dead horse.
We can let this one lay..... Over!

I am just here to assist others in keeping these fine machines running well.
If you like what I have to offer then use it,
if not then find another way.

Again thanks for the support, Stan

This is hilarious. I know your type. If others don't have all the info then that's just fine, you can fool their asses all day long. I have seen the whole
Picture, and know why you only come on MY thread and tell me how to sell a car - and how much it's worth, but not go in other's threads with the same "helpful" info.

I've seen people like you blow through over the years - a guy named munck "helped" people and they defended him on here while he was ripping people off with a calm, helpful manner after setting up his grift - Because they had been "helped".

Let me make it clear. Do NOT try and **** with something that is even remotely related to how I am compensated. Don't post with my FS threads - or any other ones that I may ask for advice on from this great community - I don't consider you part of it. I don't need or want your "help". I have no idea what grift you are setting up here, but its not my concern.

Dude, you have gone from 'insensitive' to '*******' in just one post.

"I say exactly what I mean and with the force for which it is meant."

Seriously.

You don't have the entire story Randy. That's also a complete sentence with proper structure.

Whatever.

If you have nothing constructive to add then please show some restraint.

I'm still looking for answers about freezing the seal but now you've pretty much scared off anyone who could contribute.

Thanks.

That is, as you know, completely incorrect.

Whoa......................Lay off the booze and caffeine Brenden, I think that was way uncalled for. I read the thread a few days ago that you were referring to and didn't see anything that could set a person off the way it has you.

Randy
Don't freeze the seal, not worth it. Once it is installed it will form to the door as it is shut. And it will be fun relearning how to shut the door too. Hack job or not, cut the seal at the point where it will interact with the door stay and the wire harness. It's not like you have to worry about water, snow, bull**** seeping in there, cause it won't happen.

Now I'm getting conflicting advice.

I imagine you've done this job a time or two, Sean - are you recommending to cut the seal at the door stay area?

Previous recommendations were to cut it at the bottom of the door, approximately in the middle.

Thanks.

Done a dozen or so, some I've taken the wiring off, and the door stays etc. I'd not do the bottom. I do it at the door stay since that is the most protected area of the door.

Besides, you can't see it.
