Default Removing door panel clips

I removed the door panel with no damage to 12 of the 13 clips (mostly white in photo, but 2 black replacements at top right put in by PO or his speaker installer).

I have spares for the damaged one and any others that look like they could be replaced.

But how do you remove the old ones? I don't want to just pull and risk damaging the panel hole. If I saw them off then the end that drops back into the panel will rattle around!

I'm sure someone has faced this before and has an elegant solution...

I think I remember, the white ones are easier to remove than the black ones.

You can try to cut them out, but you'll likely leave the panel clip head behind. Around the carpet the head could be easily removed, but only after pulling up the carpet which is glued down on both sides.

Well damaged one is a white one, it's not at edge of carpet but still covered by glued carpet so still baffled. Also even if I cut off shaft and pushed head away from hole, how would I get new clip in?

Will try to straighten the damged clip first, it's just a bit squashed.

i got mine out by twisting it side ways to get one of the two "prongs" out of the hole, then twist out.

Of course! Thanks.

But have now just found that the spares I picked up on ebay are the black ones, which are different from white. White have a kind of butterfly which spaces them away from hole, so if I used a black in that location the tip won't be able to push home in the door hole.
